Riverside County residents will have the opportunity to dispose of bulky waste for free in Indio Hills on Saturday, it was announced Tuesday.
Tires, furniture, appliances, bundled tree branches and e-waste are among the items available for disposal during the 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. collection event at the Indio Hills Community Center at 80-400 Dillon Road.
Only nine tires are allowed per trip and residents must unload their rubbish from their vehicle. Face coverings and six feet of social distancing are required.
The free event, hosted by the Riverside County Department of Waste Resources, is open to all county residents, but only household waste, not business waste, will be accepted.
Hazardous materials such as batteries, pool chemicals, brake fluid, paint and fluorescent lights will not be accepted.
Anyone wishing to dispose of such hazardous waste can do so at the District Facility in Palm Springs at 1100 Vella Road, which is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
