As Sunday 6th March is Clean up Australia Day I encourage businesses, schools and community groups to get involved and register your own clean up campaign.
You can register a cleaning online at cleanup.org.au/register and receive a free starter kit with bags, gloves and everything you need for a safe, fun and effective clean. Attending Clean Up Australia Day is a great way to take care of our country and the community we live in.
If you have chemicals at home that you are unsure how to dispose of, bring them to Merriwa’s Waste Disposal Facility on Saturday, January 29th for free donation at the Household Chemical CleanOut event.
The event runs from 9am to 3:30pm and community members can dispose of a variety of household chemicals including paint, garden chemicals, toxins, batteries, pool chemicals, motor oils, liquids and fuels, fluorescent lights, gas cylinders, fire extinguishers and smoke detectors.
Coulsons Creek Road meeting
I would like to remind residents that a community meeting regarding Coulsons Creek Road will be held at the Merriwa School of Arts on Thursday, February 3rd. The meeting is being conducted by Council in conjunction with Public Works Advisory to discuss progress on Coulsons Creek Rd, also known as MR 358.
The team working on the site will provide an update with questions from the community. If you would like to attend, please register online using the Eventbrite link on the Council website to ensure the meeting is COVID-safe.
