RAPID CITY, SD (KEVN) – The Roosevelt Swim Center will close its 25-yard swimming pool for repairs beginning Nov. 14. The repair could take up to 15 days.
The opening hours of the center will not change and the leisure pool will remain open. The repairs are not related to work carried out in August.
“We’ve noticed some problems with caulking in the pool over the past few weeks and the problem isn’t getting better,” said City Recreation Division manager Doug Lowe. “It’s an issue beyond our control, but we can’t avoid fixing it and we want to do it before the center hosts swimming competitions in December.
The swimming center courses and program may be affected. Other parts of the facility are unaffected by this temporary closure.
If the pool repairs are completed early, Lowe says the public will be notified.
