Celal Atik Swimming Pool Can Be Used Every Month
Celal Atik Swimming Pool of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality in Kültürpark can now be used every month of the year. The top of the pool was closed with the permission of the High Council for the Protection of Cultural Heritage and opened to the public again.
Continuing to work within the scope of Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer’s vision of transforming Izmir into a sports city, the Metropolitan Municipality covered the Celal Atik Swimming Pool in Kulturpark. Thus, the pool will be able to provide uninterrupted service for 12 months.
Reopened to the public for swimming and water polo training
The covered pool was opened to the public again for swimming and water polo training. There is no age limit for free swimming training. Children between the ages of 7-14 will be able to benefit from the swimming pool and water polo branches at the sports schools.
Permission was obtained from the High Council for the Protection of Cultural Heritage.
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Club President Ersan Odaman said, “We know very well the support and interest of our İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer in water sports. As a club, we act in line with the vision of creating a brand city in water sports. With the permission given by the High Council of Monuments under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the top of the pool was covered with a balloon and reopened to everyone.”
