Inside Pia and Patrick Whitesell’s new $57million mega-mansion in LA

Hollywood power player Patrick Whitesell is the proud owner of a $43million (AU$57million) Tuscan-style home in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles.

The Endeavor talent agency executive chairman – widely considered one of the most influential men in movies with a client list including Ben Affleck, Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale – had for months been the rumoured buyer of the sprawling estate.

But it wasn’t until last week that real-estate website Dirt.com confirmed the 57-year-old businessman had actually bought the five-bedroom, 13-bathroom mansion.

The home, where the media mogul plans to live with his Australian actress wife Pia Whitesell, 38, once renovations are completed, features a resort-style swimming pool, a driveway lined with olive trees, and even its own maids’ quarters for staff.

It spans more than 19,000 sq ft, and sits on 1.35 acres of land.

The newlyweds, who tied the knot in secret last year, are giving their new home a makeover before moving in, with extensive renovations taking place while they live in their oceanfront property in Malibu.

Their Holmby Hills home has a top-of-the-range security system and gated driveway, and privacy is guaranteed because it cannot be seen from the street.

The mansion has a luxurious but cosy feel inside, featuring ornate high ceilings, fireplaces throughout as well as a dramatic foyer.

There’s also a gourmet kitchen, a library and home theatre, in addition to a smaller guest house on the grounds.

Holmby Hills is one of LA’s most exclusive neighbourhoods. The Whitesells’ new home is close to the US$165million mansion built for the late television executive Aaron Spelling and his widow, Candy Spelling.

Also nearby is the infamous Playboy Mansion once owned by the late Hugh Hefner.

Pia, a Chilean-born actress and model who previously starred in Australian soap Home and Away, relocated from Sydney to LA last year to be with her husband.

The glamorous brunette, who is mother to teenage sons Isaiah and Lennox from two previous relationships, married Whitesell last May.

Pia, who was married once before to AFL footballer Brad Miller, accepted Patrick’s proposal in late 2020 after he presented her with a spectacular diamond ring.

Whitesell, the boss of Hollywood talent and media agency Endeavor, formerly known as WME, has an estimated net worth of US$440million (AU$630million).

Since relocating to America with her husband, Pia has been travelling the world with Whitesell, staying in top-tier hotels and mansions.

She is best known for playing Katarina Chapman on Channel Seven’s Home and Away. She has also featured in advertising campaigns for Maybelline, Myer and GHD.

Pia is the woman who healed Whitesell’s broken heart after his ex-wife, journalist and entertainment reporter Lauren Sanchez, 52, left him for Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, 58, the world’s richest man, in one of the biggest scandals of 2019.

Whitesell was the one who introduced Sanchez to Bezos in 2016, and she left him for the multi-billionaire e-commerce entrepreneur in May 2019.

Whitesell and Sanchez, who share 15-year-old son Evan and 14-year-old daughter Eleanor Patricia, finalised their divorce in October 2019.
